Note to Parents: When putting up you Christmas tree...move the clippers.
Why? Because little birds like to investigate things they haven't seen before. She decided to "help" Dad clip the lower branches off. She also "helped" put the lights on, "helped" hang all the ornaments (i.e. ran off with each one and hid it wherever she could find a spot), "helped" water the tree (and subsequent waterings have garnered just as much or more help) "helps" adjust the tree skirt every day (I didn't know it needed adjusted until I had a child!, good thing she taught me that! how embarrassing, I've never done that before!) and, of course "helps" make the holidays more fun and more magical (but that's for real, she does a great job at that!).

When Folding Laundry, Don't Forget to Have Some Fun! Awww, the wonders of laundry, I love the clean smell of warm clothes and I love to dump them all ontop of the little chick as she giggles ready to "help" fold. But what she loves most, is the discoveries of things left behind in pockets...like earplugs. Now, she's figured out where they go because she sees Daddy using them whenever he's woodworking or mowing or something, but this was a use that perhaps hasn't been discovered. Did you know that if you stick an earplug in your belly button (unless it's an outie!) it will stay and provide several minutes of fun and laughter? Amazing, huh?

Sticker Fun!
Yesterday, the little chick discovered all the fun you can have with stickers...she turned into our little "flower girl" and loved the attention she got with them all over her face. But once she started to feel "stuck" she wanted them off...so you know what she did? She walked right over to the mirror and tried to pull them off the little girl in the mirror instead! Didn't work very well, so Dad helped her.

Becoming my Mother...I wish!
A lot of women dread the thought of "becoming their own mother." But I'm actually excited at the idea of trying to do the things she did that made my Christmases so memorable. So, here's the evidence of my first attempt at sewing for my daughter. I decided to make her Christmas dress and asked Mama for some advice. She sent several patterns to choose from and I decided on a jumper, then bought cordoury and made a snowman applique. It looks great on the outside, if I do say so myself...but don't peek at any of the hems inside...I didn't figure out how to do them "pretty" until the very last one along the bottom of the dress. Aw well, who's going to be looking there anyway?
