Little Flamingo's Little World

Once upon a time there was a bird called Flamingo. She had a baby bird that she named Little Flamingo, or Flaminguito. By the time Flaminguito turned one year old, she was doing a lot of funny things that Flamingo wanted to share with all the other birds in her flock. When a friend from the monkey exhibit at the Zoo told her about a blog, she decided to start one of her own...then two little baby blue birds came along and she added their antics to her blog, too...this is Flaminguito's blog.

Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah...Here I am at, Camp Wilani...
These are pictures...I took myself...
Please ignore they're from the viewpoint of an elf.

This is my friend, she's called Dragonfly...
we had lots of fun, just her and I.

Here I'm whipping the belt I wore to ride...
don't worry, I did not hit the horse's hide.

This is my horse, she's called Cinnamon...
We rode together, around and back-again.

She was a good horse and took commands to trot...
I sure enjoyed my rides with her a lot.

All our meals...were in the dining hall...
This is all I saw...'cause I'm not very tall.

But I still had some food, and sang a lot in here...
I cannot wait to come to this camp next year.

Photos from our first backpacking trip as a family. We figure we hiked about 13 miles and the bird, well, she hiked maybe 2 or 3, maybe. But she was good and we all had a great time, can't wait to go again!
Enjoy!

"Every year on the day you were born the Birthday honk-honker hikes high up Mount Zorn and lets loose a big blast on the big Birthday Horn. And the voice of the horn calls out loud as it plays: 'Wake up, for today is your Day of all Days!' Then the moment the horn's happy honk-honk is heard comes a fluttering flap flap and then comes THE BIRD."
~Dr. Seuss, "Happy Birthday to You"

We hope you enjoy these birthday pictures from our little bird's third birthday.

Yes, we're aware it's been a while since we've blogged...again. But here are some new pictures!

The bird with ruffled feathers.

One last sip of milk before church, isn't she cute?
