All in Our Own Backyard

 

Our backyard...it's full of pleasure and treasure every day, if we just look hard enough.  I've found simple pleasures this summer in watching my kids play.  The pure joy they find in things like wagon rides, tomatoes, baby birds and every day giggles gives me so much to be thankful for in every moment.  These three little birds constantly remind me of Psalm 98:  "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord...a loud noise."  Paraphrased, of course, this is what my kids do all day, every day...make noise, loud noise, but most of the time, if I look hard enough, I can see that it's joyful.  And some of the time, I catch those joyful, noise-making moments on camera.  Here are some of the ones I've caught in my own backyard and a little beyond. A Year Already?
